Strange Rain App Reviews

Hi app developer: The rain youve chosen for this app is soothing and calming. Ive had some great sleep recently while supplementing my white noise with your app. Sadly, however: • Audio settings are bugged. Most times audio doesnt work unless Im in "audio in other apps"; which only occasionally works if I go to other apps or turn off my screen. • I understand the story controls but they can move too fast even with the right tactile control. • Story parts should all remain within border of screen. • Should have easier or more intuitive back/forward through story. • Needs more story options, plain and simple.

I came upon this creation by searching “peaceful” in the App Store. There must be something to put on my phone other than pedestrian utilities and frenetic games, I thought, something with more depth (pardon the pun) than Koi Pond. Strange Rain is an interesting effort, an original sample of a new genre struggling to be born. Fish: A Tap Essay is another. But to say that this is a raw and untried medium for the creative artist is to understate the limitations of this effort and others. New Age chimes, raindrops falling on my head, cloudy skies, twitter feeds, and a murky story line do not add up to anything resembling a good novel—or even a bad novel—in depth and value to the mind. I applaud the effort, and look forward to refinements and breakthroughs, but this medium has yet to find its Homer.

I love the rain. I think there should be a selection to pick a mood (somber, refreshed, etc.) which would help with the persons who feel this app is too depressing. ;) Please make an iPad version or make the image able to flip to landscape

This game is awesome. Story mode is captivating, and so is whispers mode. The clouds morph into a strange pattern, and the rain occasionally changes colors. I love how you can change the intensity of the rain, and fall into the sky. Also, YOU CAN FALL INTO THE SKY ITS A LITTLE MIND BLOWING.

Perfect if you are in a bad mood or just want rain. But feeds should work in IOS 7 because I dont know if anyone still uses IOS 5. Also should implement more stuff.

How about a short lived tornado if you move finger(s) around in a circular shape? I like this app. Unusually interesting!!!

I love this app, it is extremely relaxing and a joy to watch.

Authentic rain look and sounds. Only complaint: wish there was a way to turn off the associated low sound of the rain hitting plastic/covering. That is the only sound that doesnt fit. Would be nice just to have the rain hitting the ground sound alone - same way most people hear it out their window.

This has no point dont waste your money

Perhaps I am not sufficiently intellectual to understand this app. To me, however, it came across as terribly depressing. I didnt find it particularly relaxing, and the embedded story is about as uplifting as a Sartre piece.

This app is hypnotizing, beautiful, and creepy. Its hard to explain, you just have to try it for yourself.

Made me fall asleep

Please allow the app the ability to play the music without user interaction. It is very relaxing, but you cant fall asleep to it if you have to keep touching the screen to hear it. Maybe even add a slider to determine the speed of the music (the mimic finger touches) Otherwise, very nice app with lots of promise...

From a visual standpoint it looks absolutely fake. The drops hitting the screen are just duplicates. These blurry objects, not in the least representing complexity of a raindrop make the whole thing flat. I was very disappointed that this app was not eligible for return, but it is nothing compared to the negative emotions from the aesthetic aspect. You have disrespected the rain.

If my app was voted one of the most innovative Id want to keep it up. I keep looking because the core of it, the rain, is wonderful. And rain is not depressing. Its elemental. It refreshes all. Its insulting to wait yet another whole year and get nothing. This had so much potential and now even the rain is not worth it. Same depressing story, I can only guess the guy who wrote this is the hit and run driver and is in prison. What happened to being able to put our own poetry in? So bye bye stupid rain.

This app is amazing.. It draws me in, many of us. Please consider another story.
